General Researchers at NIT: Dr. Mariëtte Verhoeven
We are happy to introduce our new researcher at NIT Dr. Mariëtte Verhoeven.
Mariëtte Verhoeven studied art history at Radboud University Nijmegen where she also received her Ph.D. degree in 2010. Her Ph.D. thesis is entitled The Early Christian Monuments of Ravenna. Transformations and Memory was published in 2011 (Brepols Publishers). Mariëtte Verhoeven specializes in the field of early Christian and Byzantine architectural history. Her current research focuses on the cultural history, memory, and transformation of architectural heritage in Istanbul with a special interest in the use of digital techniques to unlock and activate the memorial potential of cultural heritage.
