Book presentation Constantinople through the Ages. The Visual City from Its Foundation to Contemporary Istanbul

December 11, 20:00 at Spui25 in Amsterdam

You are invited to an evening exploring the changing yet consistent nature of urban culture of Constantinople through the ages. In what ways are historical continuity and change visible in today's Istanbul? How have successive generations seen the splendor of seventeen centuries of history, from Bishop Eusebius to Orhan Pamuk?

The program (in Dutch) is organized on the occasion of the publication of the new work Constantinople through the Ages. The Visible City from its Foundation to Contemporary Istanbul, edited by Diederik Burgersdijk, Fokke Gerritsen and Willemijn Waal.

For the program and for registration please visit the webpage of Spui25. The event can also be followed there via a livestream.

The book announcement on the publisher’s website can be found here.
