General Researchers at NIT: Tsjalline Boorsma
Tsjalline Boorsma of UvA is currently at the NIT for her research “Changing narratives and practices of humanitarianism in the context of displacement in Istanbul, Turkey”.
Tsjalline Boorsma, a research master student at the University of Amsterdam is currently a NIT Research Fellow working on the research: “Changing Narratives and Practices of Humanitarianism in the Context of Displacement in Istanbul, Turkey”. She will do three months of fieldwork about the humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees, focusing on ideas of humanitarianism, altruism, helping, volunteerism, organization structures and idealism in daily practice. The research will focus on interviews and participant observation at the community center of an independent NGO, where she will also do volunteer work.
