In this talk Dr. Nicole van Os of Leiden University will tell about one of the many women’s organizations founded during the so-called Second Constitutional Period (1908-1918). This explicitly Muslim and Turkish organization was originally founded to assist in stimulating the national economy, but also developed other activities in the course of the First World War.
